Break Up Your Art for the Greater Good.  Gallery & Panel Hybrid Art Pieces

A great way to give your wall new life is to break up the art, literally. You choose how to break up your art piece to create a myriad of possibilities. You could create a gallery wall with clean lines, for example. Some walls could look cluttered with art prints of clashing colors or placed in half hazard position. By breaking up a single print, the colors remain consistent, no matter how you rearrange its parts.

It could be intimidating to consider breaking up a perfectly fine art print, but start off with simple squares and you’ll be fine. In fact, I guarantee once you start you’ll start to imagine the possibilities. The best advice is to not over think it.

Let’s start with a simple project.

What you will need: a piece of art that you could cut into sections. We make Photo Paint Palettes that could be used. Tape foam blocks with removable adhesive (we offer these in product page). You may also use Command Strips or Velcro tape.

Step 1:

Begin with a single piece of art then section it off to create new art pieces. It’s as if your one art piece had babies!

We start off with this nice flowered art piece that measures 36” x 32” This is a digital print on a polyboard.

Step 2:

Cut into sections. We cut the art piece into six sections. If you did not have the print pre-cut before ordering, you could cut with heavy duty scissors or a Dremel saw. Scissors work best. Click here for video demonstration.

Step 3:

Begin to think how you want the sections to look on your wall. Don’t fret here. Since you’re not placing holes in your walls you could shift around until you feel you have it right.Place your mounting tape on your art pieces.
